Dear Miss Michele and Miss Jen,
Miss Karen, Miss Brit, Miss
Annette, Mr. Enrique and all the SOCT dance teachers past and present,
I am flooded with mixed emotions as I gaze at my daughter’s first
ballet shoes and reflect on all the memories. Choosing Standing Ovation School
of Dance was one of the best decisions that I made for her. We didn’t know at the time that it would
become her second home and bring a lifetime of warm, wonderful and joyous
memories. There are not enough words to express my gratitude…
Thank you for taking my shy little girl and teaching her to dance. She broke out of her shell not only in dance,
but in every aspect of her life as she grew into the young lady she is
today. You taught her to put her heart
into what she does not only in dance, but also in her everyday life. As she
takes the stage for her last recital, her smile will tell the world how much
she loves to dance.
Thank you for teaching my girl how to use her passion, work hard all year
long and become her personal best. Watching her internalize what her dance
teachers said to work at every day, and then go through some of the toughest
moments taught her tenacity, strength and humility. As a Competitive Edge Dance
Team dancer, she learned what a team member is sincerely about. Through the highs and lows, lessons about
learning to stay true to who you are, and appreciate the journey was important.
She even learned to get back into the game, after not always getting there
right away, which is a lesson that she will take with her every day of her life.
Giving her the honorary nickname of Monique gave her confidence and loving
support, while giving her the title of Miss Julianne gave her the privilege and
honor to share her love of dance with younger students.
It is the people that we have both met through dance have been
some of the most special people that have walked into our lives. The people
that have stayed throughout my daughter’s dance journey have become truly her
best friends. The special dance teachers
that have shared their talents with her will always hold wonderful memories.
All of you-the ones that have been her constant have become our extended
family. Supporting her every day in the
studio, and at competitions, conventions with long, long hours, sometimes
stranded in hotels during snowstorms, or having the time of our lives at
Hershey, NYC and Disney are memories that will remain with us forever. The
dance family and friends are like no other people in the world.
Thirteen years of gratitude with just words of thank you certainly
does not seem enough. Standing Ovation School of Dance has been truly more than
a place to learn to dance. My girl is a
beautiful dancer today because of all of you. It was worth every costume, crazy
hair style, zillions of dance steps and all the pennies in being in this
beautiful story of dance. As she takes her final bow as a Standing Ovation
dancer and team member, she will represent all of your hard work, courage and
strength it took to get her to this special moment. Thank you for the countless
blessings. Whatever paths lie ahead for all of you, may each of you be blessed
with continued success with abundance of love, health and happiness.
With love and gratitude,
Cindy Lutz
Forever a dance mom
